Bosco Boat Update

For those of you who don’t know or remember, September of 2018 was when the devastating Hurricane Florence pounded her way through New Bern, NC. We barely escaped with our hull in tact, especially if we left Bosco boat at our old marina:

We decided to move the boat down south about 15 miles, and it made a HUGE difference. Despite the flooding waters, she was able to escape with very minor damage considering what could have been. She didn’t completely escape the destruction, and when we found her last fall it was not a pretty sight. She was in shambles with a huge chunk taken out of the side teak, thankfully it didn’t penetrate the hull! We spent a few days doing damage control and a complete overhaul to the areas that we could access.

Just yesterday, she came out of her 1-month surgery and has made a complete recovery, looking good as new. All of the damage has been completely fixed and we didn’t stop there, giving her a buff job and new bottom paint to boot. There was also a bunch of minor work we had done including replacing some old equipment long past its prime. We are so excited to see her looking back to her old, beautiful self again.

  1. I am glad that Bosco pulled through so well and that she has such caring owners who have now made her better than new.

  2. Thanks, Steve! We love that Bosco 🙂

  3. A few years ago I gave you an offer to buy Bosco. The offer was not accepted, but since then I’ve been following your blog with a grat pleasure and envy. You are a charming and thorough couple who chose to live your life deferntly. I wish you many more adventures with your “new” Bosco
